About Heritage Banners

Heritage Banners is a specialist workshop devoted to the creation of bespoke flags, ceremonial banners and decorative insignia inspired by historic British traditions. Our work is shaped by careful design, considered fabric choices, skilled construction and hand-finished detail.

We create pieces for heritage displays, commemorative occasions, reenactment groups, societies, ceremonial settings and private collections. Every commission begins with a conversation about its purpose, imagery, dimensions and intended presentation, allowing the finished piece to carry the right visual weight and character.

A Craft Built Around Meaning

A banner is rarely just a piece of fabric. It may represent a community, an institution, a historical period, a family emblem, a commemorative event or a shared identity. That is why we approach every commission individually rather than relying on standard printed production.

Depending on the design, a finished piece may incorporate carefully assembled fabric panels, appliqué, embroidered detail, decorative borders, lettering, fringes, cords or hanging arrangements. Our aim is to create work that feels considered, distinctive and appropriate to the setting in which it will be seen.

Traditional Detail, Developed for Each Commission

We can work from client-supplied artwork, heraldic references, historical inspiration or an initial concept requiring further development. Colour balance, emblem placement, borders, proportions and practical display requirements are considered before construction begins.

This measured approach allows us to produce banners that respect traditional visual language while remaining suitable for their intended modern use, whether for indoor display, public presentation, reenactment, ceremony or private ownership.

What Defines Our Work

Our workshop focuses on craftsmanship that can be seen in the finished piece: well-balanced proportions, clean sewn construction, carefully positioned motifs and hand-finished details that give a banner depth and presence.

We do not present every commission as an exact historical reproduction. Where a piece is inspired by a particular period or reference, its treatment is discussed clearly with the client so that the final banner reflects the agreed brief and intended use.

Who We Work With

Heritage Banners welcomes enquiries from heritage organisations, reenactment groups, ceremonial bodies, societies, collectors and private clients. Projects may range from a single decorative banner to a more elaborate commissioned standard incorporating emblems, lettering and traditional ornamental detail.

Whether you have completed artwork or only the beginnings of an idea, we can discuss the design direction, proposed dimensions, materials, finishing options and presentation requirements before preparing a quotation.

Begin Your Bespoke Banner Project
